Free BOxing + LIFE SKILLS PROGRAM
Program Summary
Applications for the fall session are now closed.
Applications will open for the winter session in early January 2025.
The next 10-week session will begin in early February 2025.
Working with community partners to select candidates, 13th Round Fight For Life is offering a free, intensive boxing and life-skills training program for 50 identified youth. The program is offered three times per year starting in October, February and April. The Program is focused on the individual strengths of each participant while also creating a community of support. Led by a team of experienced boxing and social support professionals the program combines non-contact boxing instruction with mentorship, academic support, a supportive social environment and life skills / wellness sessions led by qualified experts.
* Please note that this is a physically demanding program and while youth of all skill and fitness levels are encouraged to apply the program can be challenging for youth who are recovering from serious illness or injury.
Who?
Youth from underserved communities or who may face barriers to success between the ages of 13 to 19 years old are encouraged to apply. No boxing experience is required, gloves and hand wraps will be provided.
When?
Program Dates: Monday October 7 - Monday December 9, 2024
Program times: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.
This is not a drop-in program, participants must commit to attending 3 times per week.
Participating youth are expected to attend three times a week for the full two hours unless other commitments conflict with the program. If a participant misses a Monday, Wednesday or Friday session they must attend a drop-in boxing class offered on either Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday to make up for the missed session.
